Trauma, Anxiety & Depression

Trauma can happen when something bad happens to us.

If it happens when we are young we may not remember it in our mind but the memory can be stored in our body causing present day reactions we don’t understand. Think about getting bitten by a dog at the age of 2 for example. You don’t remember the event (because you were just too young to remember!) but you may flinch or cross the street to get away from dogs now. If something happens when we are older we may not know how to handle all the feelings that keep coming up.

Trauma can happen from neglect, abuse, tragedy, and many other events. What is traumatic for one person may not be so for another.

Depression and anxiety can flow from a trauma or from life piling up more than we can cope with or from our biology. Therapy can help us discover ways to manage and move forward.

In therapy we work on dealing with anxiety, depression, emotional pain and trauma no matter the source.

Learn new ways to deal with the feelings we have today about the experiences and events of the past.
